Lewes Town Hall

Lewes Oktoberfest

Bavaria comes to Lewes

On September 16th, we’ll be hosting Lewes’ very own Oktoberfest in the Corn Exchange. We’ll be transforming the hall with our own Bavarian theme and we'll be laying on great food, beer and music. Last year's event was a massive hit and this year is lining up to be just as good.

What about beers? We’re lucky to have a wealth of local breweries who each produce their own German style beers - Abyss, Beak, Only With Love and Harveys. See out list of beers below. There’ll also be Gluwein and Schnapps on offer if you’re looking for something other than beer.

Of course, we’ll have a good selection of German food to compliment the beers. Plenty of different sausages, including a veggie option and a curry wurst – not to be missed. If you fancy something lighter, there’ll be various snacks available throughout the evening.

What beers and food are we going to have?

You can’t have an Oktoberfest event without a German Oompah band.

Brass Squad are a London based brass quartet who have performed nationwide at all mannner of events from sporting occasions and corporate events through to weddings and private parties. They have recently performed with Dionne Warwick and the Gypsy Kings amongst others. They are extremely versatile and will be entertaining us at our Oktoberfest in full Bavarian costume.

Beers

We have some fantastic beers in store for you. All are supplied by breweries in the Lewes area. We really wanted to make this a local event, promoting local products and we hope you enjoy the range we've put in place.

We will also be having a Schnapps and Gluwein bar if you fancy something different.

Food

Keeping with the local theme, we've teamed up with Richards butchers who will be making one off German sausages for the Fest.

...

You'll be able to get traditional smoked and un-smoked Bratwurst in a bun along with Curry Wurst, a firm favourite at Oktoberfest that consists of sliced wurst with a tantalising curry sauce!

Veggie options will also be available.

Watch this space for updates.
